Walking club strolls Bob Kerry “footbridge”

Council Bluffs Primrose
What a better way to enjoy a beautiful summer morning than to take a stroll on the longest pedestrian bridge to connect two states?

The Primrose Walking Club took a journey to the Bob Kerrey “footbridge” which is the link across the Missouri River from Omaha Nebraska to Council Bluffs Iowa that opened in the fall of 2008. The bridge is great for walking and biking enthusiasts because it connects to 150 miles of trails on either side.

The Primrose Walking Club has been up and “running” since the fall of 2009 and has since doubled in size. They walk everywhere from the halls of Primrose during the winter months to the local parks in Council Bluffs when the weather is nice. Their indoor walks are a great way to recruit new members into the club, especially when other Primrose residents see the club members passing by, and join in.

To some passersby the walking club looks like nothing more than a group of people chatting, however even the ten to twenty minute walk keeps minds and bodies healthy. Primrose encourages an active lifestyle because the benefits are endless.
