Residents visit “Whoville”
Kids and donkeys greet visiting seniors
Seniors enjoy tractor rides
Open fire pit cookout
Homemade food tops off the day
Primrose seniors had an exciting outing to “WhoVille,” an intriguing acreage up in Nashwauk, Minnesota.
The property belongs to a Primrose resident’s family member (Lynda Cass, daughter of Roy & Marge Johnson). The visitors were greeted by the two family dogs — advice: don’t start throwing them a ball, or your day will be gone — guinea hens, chickens and a rooster who actually does the “Moon Walk” (the rooster did not once walk forward)!
Other greeters were a cuddly farm cat, and of course, the kids and 4 miniature donkeys who were not at all shy, either.
The residents toured the 20 acre farm, enjoying tractor rides, seeing a hunting shack fit for a king and “Lake Who” which is stocked with fish for the next fishing trip.
“Lake Who Municipal Garage” is right beside the lake, and the Primrose seniors saw that it had farm equipment and a man’s dream of toys on display.
The lunch spread was enormous with homemade sloppy joes, baked beans, chips and fresh key lime pie (accompanied conveniently by s’mores out on the fire pit and homemade chocolate chip cookies.) In no uncertain terms, a good time was had by all. The ride home was quiet because it had been a hugely big day for everyone!
