Residents visit Glenn Miller Museum

Council Bluffs Primrose
On Saturday, June 12th, five Primrose residents and two staff members took a road trip to Clarinda, Iowa, to attend the Glenn Miller Festival.

Glenn Miller was a very popular jazz musician during the Swing Era, and he was born less than a hundred miles from Council Bluffs!

What a fantastic trip it was! Laura Sutherland, the Life Enrichment Coordinator at Primrose, put together the trip and reaped the rewards when a great time was had by all.

Their first stop was at the newly-opened Glenn Miller Museum. The residents said the museum was like a “walk down memory lane!” They also took a tour of Glenn’s birth home, where he spent most of his younger years.

The definite highlight of the day was the concert provided by the Glenn Miller Orchestra Band. The evening of music was complete with a stop for dinner at a nice hometown steakhouse.
