Residents enjoy listening to Sharon teach her “Life Lessons from the Garden”
Mankato resident Lorraine Currie shows off her beautiful bouquet.
Residents of the Mankato Primrose community have many activities that they enjoy, but one of the favorites every year is when Sharon visits with her “Life Lessons from the Garden”.
Sharon spends her summer nurturing her gardens so that our residents will have the opportunity to experience her flowers. Sharon talks about what the garden can teach us before she gives the residents a chance to create their own bouquet. Lessons such as watering your flowers helps them grow, pulling a weed when it is small is easier then pulling a weed that is overgrown, and that each flower is different yet beautiful in its own way.
These lessons help remind our residents of the simple joy that flowers can bring to so many. When Sharon leaves us after her presentation, the residents are left with a beautiful flower arrangement to brighten their rooms.
Our residents are grateful for the wonderful people who come into our building to share their day with us, and they are thankful for the lessons that Sharon provides every year.
