Katherine and her husband, Don, getting ready to blow out the candles!
Katherine opening cards and presents
On Friday, July 31st, Primrose Retirement Community of Austin celebrated resident Katherine’s 100th Birthday. Family flew in to join Katherine on her special day, along with Primrose residents, family from Austin, and many of her good friends. Katherine received lots of flowers, cards, gifts, and hugs.
Everyone enjoyed cake, ice cream, and wonderful entertainment. While cake was being delivered, an entertainer played background music, guests sang happy birthday and Katherine made a wish and blew out her candles. Once everyone was served the party continued with songs from the 30s to the 70s, everyone was singing and having a great time. In fact, everyone was having so much fun that the party and entertainment continued on for two hours instead of the originally scheduled one hour! Entertainment was great about extending the time, in fact it was their idea to continue songs, until everyone left. Katherine says, “I enjoyed my birthday, the turnout was amazing, and everyone did such a good job.”
