Austin, MN, Retirement Communities

Lavonne Srock, a resident from Primrose Retirement Community of Austin, MN, recently spent a day fishing with her family. In the first hour she spent on Lake Mazaskia in Schieldsfield, MN, she caught a walleye that weighed 6.68 pounds and was twenty seven inches long. Lavonne said, “I thought that I just had a bunch of seaweed, but my daughter yelled, ‘mom you caught a fish!’” Lavonne was the first woman to ever place in the top three, and for her accomplishments, she took home a trophy and $200 dollars in cash. Lavonne states, “Lots of people attend this event and the fee is $25.00. I enjoy the event and spending time with my family, and the best part is that the proceeds go to help fight cancer.” Lavonne knows people who are fighting Cancer. Fishing was fun and is something that she has done for the last three years.
