Kansas City, MO, Retirement Communities

We recently spent a glorious afternoon at Smithville Lake. It had been raining in Kansas City for the past two months and we got lucky. It was a little bit cloudy, but warm and a perfect day on the lake. We loaded up three coolers filled with ice- cold pop and water, and Chef Rod made us turkey and ham sandwiches, a side of coleslaw, chips and cookies to eat. Once we got out on the lake we stopped in a shaded area and had a nice picnic lunch. Then we took off full blast (55 mph) across the lake. Because of the rain the lake was high and we couldn’t go under any of the bridges. The residents shared stories of all the times they had been fishing at Smithville Lake and some could even remember when it was farm land and they decided to make it a lake. Jack was so relaxed that he even fell asleep on the way back to the dock. What a great way to spend an afternoon. Good Friends, Good Food and great stories – This is Living!
