One way to be thankful is to help others by raising money for a great cause. Pueblo Primroser’s donated a record $751.00 to the local Al Kaly Shriners to help children who need surgery. What better way to help and have fun then an Oktoberfest? The perfect Autumn weather brought over 80 residents, family members and friends outdoors to the Courtyard for a festive time on Wednesday October 8th. Several residents enjoyed dancing and even more groups at the tables held hands and swayed to and fro to the catchy music.
The 16 member “Al Kaly Shriner Polka Band” played plenty of polka tunes and the Life Enrichment Team with help from outstanding volunteers served up Beer, Brats, Potato Salad and Pretzel Rolls. Primrose of Pueblo created the idea of having an Oktoberfest Queen, and this year the lovely Ann Leach was crowned Queen of the Oktoberfest with two of her sons and daughter-in-law present to witness the honor. It was a logistical “miracle” that involved an amazing staff to erect tents, move chairs, tables and residents to enjoy this beloved annual tradition. Primrose is thankful that is living and that we are able to help others too.
