Garden of the Gods Rocks
Garden of the Gods Park with Pikes Peak Mountain
PSU Geology Class Photo
The Primrose Senior University (PSU) Geological Wonders class enjoyed a long-awaited outing to Garden of the Gods Park in Colorado Springs on Wednesday, September 3rd. The weather was perfect and we had this unique, historical, city park almost to ourselves. The group started at the Visitors Center with an outstanding film titled “Just Where Did Those Rocks Come From” and enjoyed the long-range vistas from the viewing deck before hopping back on the bus to be delighted by a knowledgeable and personable guide who seemed to know everything about this sacred place. Our driver Heidi drove expertly over many scenic roadways and within inches of the famous “balancing rock”. What fun learning can be with this group!
The group dined al fresco in the lovely outdoor courtyard adorned with trees, fountains and Southwestern art. Many brought back treats and artwork from the Garden of the Gods Trading Post. The gift shop is rated one of the top in the region. This dedicated group of senior learners will graduate from this four month course in November and then will begin “Masterpieces of the Ancient World” or “Brain Fitness”. This is Learning at Primrose of Pueblo!
