Bertie Shields is a face that everyone here at Primrose of Casper recognizes and knows as a capable, compassionate and loving nurse. She became an LPN in 1972 and has been here at Casper Primrose for about 8 years.

She retired last year to be a full time grandmother but her love for our residents drew her out of retirement and back to our Primrose family. She always has a smile on her face and a kind word for the people here in our community. She gets up before 4:00 each morning to drive down Casper Mountain to be here with us.

She LOVES Christmas and the holidays. It’s nothing during the Holiday Season to see her coming in the door with decorations or even a tree or two (or more) to add to the holiday spirit. She even has her wonderful husband — who I believe may be the real Santa Claus — come and visit us for our Christmas party.

Bertie is very family- oriented and is an avid “Soccer Grandma.” She is also very into doing crafts and often brings in little things she has made.

We feel so blessed and fortunate to have Bertie as part of our Casper Primrose Family.
