Primrose resident Ruth Clark
Ruth Clark came to Primrose after surgery from Lima, Ohio. Her husband was an Air Force Captain and Ruth was a happy, busy homemaker from the country. She made sugar and spice cookies for two growing boys and apple pies for the busy husband. She was active in the women’s Fellowship serving in various offices including president. She was a brave den mother for twelve boys.
Ruth found challenges and taught herself to knit, quilt, making Afghans and sweaters. She did some oil painting and many various crafts, from making teddy bears and dolls to caning and refinishing chairs and cupboards. Ruth enjoys writing poetry and uses it to keep her mind sharp and her fingers busy. Ruth enjoys her life at Primrose and has many friends that she socializes with every day.
Here is a poem Ruth wrote about Primrose:
Primrose is the place to be
When you are as old as me
Both knees hurt my shoulders too.
Can’t bend my back or tie my shoe.
The staff is good, and kind and helpful
The meals are tasty and plenty-full
There are crafts and games
And movies to view
Music, picnics, church,
And ice cream socials too.
So as you can see
Primrose is the place for me.
