Primrose of Pueblo is proud to have the opportunity to honor the Veterans who live in our community! Our Life Enrichment Director, Barbara Della Rossa, and her assistant, Heidi Brooks, put together a magnificent program quarterly to honor those Veterans who have moved to Primrose of Pueblo in the last 3 months. They obtain a picture of the Veteran when they were in the service and they take a picture of them now. They frame the pictures side by side in a cherry frame with a burgundy mat. We hang the new pictures on the wall and cover them with a drape to be revealed at the ceremony.
Our most recent ceremony was held on Jan. 8, 2014 and it honored 5 Veterans:
The Veterans families were in attendance as well as residents and staff. The ROTC of East High School here in Pueblo presented the colors while our Director of Nursing, Sheryl Ewton, honored our country with the singing of the National Anthem. Each Veteran was then presented with a certificate of appreciation and then the pictures were revealed.
This ceremony is such an emotional time for all of our Veterans and families and a proud time for Primrose of Pueblo. We feel so fortunate to have these fine men living in our community.
