Retirement Living in Mansfield, Ohio

Primrose of Mansfield had lots of laughter and shouts coming from the billiards room for the Kentucky Derby party in May. Shouts of “Come on buddy” and “Go Lucky Go” filled the room.

Residents named and picked their horses for the race as well and chose their derby hats from a wide assortment that was donated from one of our residents, Charlotte Mabee.

A make-shift horse lane was made on the billiards table top to represent the horse lanes and spaces for them to move their horses from a large die that was thrown. Residents placed their play money bets, with a mint julep in hand, in the betting box in hopes they would win the jackpot. Winners were given the big money earnings and a gold medal to wear in honor of their winning horse.

One resident was going down the hallway and commented that, “That’s the most laughter I’ve heard coming out from the billiards room in years.”

Just another fun day at Primrose.
