Primrose volunteers raised money with bake sales
On February 16th, the Sertoma Club in Wasilla held its annual dramatic fund raiser. They ask local businesses and community members to jump into a freezing lake for charity. Each ‘jumper’ must raise a $100.00 minimum to participate. We have so many dedicated staff members here at the Wasilla Primrose, that seven brave souls, including our Director of Nursing Tauna Norman, volunteered to be a part of the “Primrose Plungers.”
The Mat Su Polar Plunge is held in the middle of frozen Wasilla Lake. Our hearty team of seven held bake sales to raise part of their entry fee and donned their Primrose tee shirts. As they held hands and took big gulps of air, they jumped. Our residents were so proud of our staff! We strive to do our best not only for our residents, but also our community at large. And with this firmly in their minds, our team joined other community members to raise almost $30,000 for the Mat Su Sertoma Club.
