[Welcome, gentle reader. This is the 21st installment in a series of blogs written by actual Primrose residents. Please return often to read more! — Ed]
There are so many things that I enjoy about living at Primrose Retirement Community. I would like to share a few of them.
Each Wednesday at 3 PM, Pastor McKirahan comes to the chapel to lead us in Bible Study. We sing the old church songs that the modern churches of today hardly sing anymore, I think it is a shame the churches don’t still sing these old hymns. Pastor McKirahan gives us a sheet about someone in the Bible to refresh our memories and to learn more about them. The study is so good that we have to bring in extra chairs, this shows we enjoy having him!
I enjoy making so many new friends. So many activities to enjoy here like bridge, bingo, crafts, exercise and the weekly ice cream treats. My daughter and son-in-law enjoy being able to join me at lunch on Sunday after we go to church.
I enjoy the wonderful trips we have taken together here at Primrose. On my first day living here, I took a trip to the chocolate factory followed with lunch. I didn’t know anyone but all the other people made me feel welcome. We then made flower boots in craft class and went to Warrensburg to buy a flower to put in the boot that we made. I so enjoyed the trip to Peoria & Sullivan to see the Christmas lights, they were so beautiful and we even ate dinner out too. So many trips that I have enjoyed, like going to Champaign to the pumpkin patch and the boat ride on Lake Decatur, and even to Maroa for lunch. These trips are all planned by Karen, she does such a great job keeping us busy with activities to enjoy.
