Council Bluffs Primrose
Primrose of Council Bluffs celebrated Grandparent’s Day on Sunday September 12th to kick off National Assisted Living Week. Residents, their families and much of the Council Bluffs community attended the celebration with great food and entertainment on a beautiful fall day. Primrose chefs grilled up some burgers and hotdogs with all the fixins, and over 250 people were served!

Not only was the food delicious but the entertainment was just as good by local musician, Johnny Ray Gomez.

Residents spent the afternoon outside on a gorgeous day with their families.

Grandparent’s Day started off the weeklong celebration of National Assisted Living week which is always celebrated the second week of September. This year Primrose held its annual bonfire on Wednesday. Participants sat around the campfire and roasted marshmallows for s’mores while singing many songs. The residents remarked how they hadn’t sat around a campfire for nearly a hundred years….joking of course!

Celebrants ended the weekend with entertainment at social hour, officially named “The Night Club” even though it starts at three o’clock in the afternoon The residents were entertained by a nephew of one of the residents while they enjoyed a glass of wine.

Grandparent’s Day along with National Assisted Living Week are wonderful celebrations that Primrose residents look forward to each year.
