National assisted living week for the 2010 year began on September 12th and ended on September 18th. Many exciting activities were planned throughout the Primrose communities. The residents at Primrose Cottages enjoyed a watermelon feed on Grandparent’s Day, food and flower demonstrations, an amazing birthday party, and many more. Socializing and great laughs were brought about this week with family members.

Irene Ragels, a resident at Primrose Cottages celebrated her 99th birthday on September 14th. Irene was granted “Queen for the Day”. Irene celebrated her birthday with friends and family, along with music by Lois Junker. Friends were excited to sing and dance along to the entertainment.

One more activity that the residents had greatly enjoyed was a flower demonstration by our local Kessler’s floral department. Many different types of flower arrangements were demonstrated from choosing the right vase to topping it off with a unique item of choice. Arrangements were inspired by holidays, birthdays, seasons, special events, and many more. As every resident watched an arrangement being created they were even more excited to be able to take one home at the end of the demonstration.

Assisted living week gives friends and family an opportunity to celebrate special activities with residents living at the Aberdeen Primrose Cottages.
