Residents gather for campfire singalong
Residents sing, with Jerri Lindteigen on guitar
A break in July’s wet weather afforded residents an opportunity for a campfire singalong at the Bismarck Primrose. After dinner, the fire was lit and residents gathered around the back garden area to listen and sing along with Jerri Lindteigen, a local artist and musician.
Jerri strummed on her guitar as she led the group through a variety of songs including traditional hymns, well-known folk songs, and even some John Denver songs that Jerri changed the words around to fit the occasion.
The residents laughed, sang along, and clapped their hands. They also enjoyed cool drinks. S’mores were roasted on the campfire and passed out to everyone.
Jerri also played song requests. Several residents suggested some German songs, a reflection of their German heritage. Jerri did her best to strum some unfamiliar songs while the residents gathered around and sang in German. The residents are all looking forward to August’s campfire sing along.
