Residents enjoy senior event
The theme of the 2010 Older Adult Extravaganza was the “Fabulous 50’s…Rock n Roll,” where exhibitors designed their booths around the 50s theme. Being no strangers to the 50s and having fond memories of those days, the participating Primrose seniors — who were all wearing their Primrose t-shirts — then got to vote on their favorite pieces of 50s memorabilia.
Primrose residents attending the event were: Tom and Jeanne Wheeler, John and Mary Alice Marling, Blaine and Josephine Kocoloski and Hariett Chambers.
The Older Adult Extravaganza was sponsored by the Area Agency on Aging, and was designed for adults over 60 and their caregivers. Participants received free health screenings and information on local agencies that provide services.
Karaoke entertainment was provided by Bill & Barb Marling (son and daughter-in-law of Primrose residents John and Mary Alice Marling), and the event also displayed exotic animals from the Columbus Zoo, and cuddly critters from the Animal Shelter. Food, games, door prizes, information and giveaways contributed to the fun atmosphere.
Jeanne was the proud winner of a beautiful hanging basket arrangement. When she got home she displayed it on her patio at Primrose for everyone to see. Everyone enjoyed the outing, but as they all said at the end of the trip “It’s always nice to go, but can’t wait to get back home to Primrose.”
