A cork was bobbing in the water, a light breeze was blowing and we were receiving lots of great comments from our amazing residents as we spent a day fishing together. Rose said, “What a wonderful day for a picnic and fishing outing! I fished for the first time in my life on this very Primrose fishing outing a couple years ago, and I just love it.”
We took the scenic drive to the Clearfork Reservoir in Lexington, Ohio and began the outing with a picnic on the dock where we brought along a flowered tablecloth to cover our picnic table. Everyone enjoyed eating their lunches and they were all excited to try their hand at catching some fish when they finished up.
One resident, when asked what he was expecting to catch that day, replied with “A whole lot a fish!” Soon after that he yelled “I think I got one!” We reeled it in, hopeful that there would be a big one on the end of the hook, but all we managed to catch was a hook full of green lake moss. We all had a good laugh with that one. Our first fish was caught by Rose, and needless to say, it turned into a big fish story on the ride home from the lake. Lots of fun was had even by those that came along to watch or just bring a book and relax under an old oak tree.
