Lancaster residents enjoying their trip to the Columbus Zoo
Recently, Lancaster residents made a trip to the Columbus Zoo. Upon arrival, the Zoo employees were very helpful and accommodating to our group. As we gathered, some of the residents were talking about how it had been years since they had been there. For some, this was their first trip to a zoo! They were excited to be there.
After getting thru the gates, we all decided to eat our lunch so we would not have to stop halfway thru the zoo to eat. As we were walking, some of the residents were making comments that they could not believe how many people were attending that day. Our first stop was to see the pink flamingos, and the group was amazed at how beautiful they were and that they were standing on one leg. We then visited the monkeys and gorillas. We watched the baby go from eating to playing then climbing all over its mommy. I think the group could have sat there all day and watched how they interacted with each other!
Before we knew it, it was time to head back home to Lancaster. Time flies when you are having fun! The following day all of the residents were talking about their day at the zoo and how much fun they had. It was truly a memorable day for all who were involved!
