Telling stories on the front porch
Staying hydrated with delicious orange-infused water
After an unseasonably cool June, and two solid weeks of rain in July, the residents at the Findlay Primrose can finally enjoy their summer! On a recent and perfect Saturday afternoon, Mary Kathryn tells a captive audience about an unpleasant experience from her childhood, (to be specific, sardines!) while Helen, Lois and John listen intently and unanimously agree!
We recently placed a “hydration station” in one of the common areas, along with an informative sign which lists facts regarding the importance of remaining hydrated, especially during the summer months. Each day the kitchen staff fills it with ice water, along with various sliced fruits or vegetables. Here, Connie anticipates a glass of orange flavored water in front of Karen’s office. We have also used Kiwi; strawberries; cucumbers; lemons; watermelon; mint leaves; grapes, and are always open to suggestion from the residents.
Findlay Primrose staff and residents both are cheering on this beautiful weather, and are hoping for more sunny summer days ahead!
