Residents take a break from hectic activities to decorate pumpkins
You can always count on seeing many pumpkins around the hallways of Primrose of Mankato through the month of October! For our second year in a row, we decorated pie pumpkins (smaller pumpkins) that our residents could take home and use as centerpieces or as door decorations! It’s a favorite craft for us to participate in.
Pumpkin decorating/carving is something that our residents remember doing themselves as kids, with their children, and with their grandchildren. It is so great to see the creativity come out in all of our residents. Their pumpkins always end up looking unique. Some prefer to use stickers, some like paint, and some like ribbon and raffia.
We also held a “Pumpkin BINGO” session where we had mini decorative pumpkins as prizes. Almost every door you walk past here at Primrose is decorated with a pumpkin of some sort! It’s a fun way for us to get into the Halloween Spirit.
