Pueblo, CO, Retirement Communities

Primrose is honored to have many military veterans from our Armed Forces right here amongst us. Five of our newer resident veterans were honored on Thursday 8/21 in a dignified ceremony hosted by the Life Enrichment team of Barbara Della Rossa and Heidi Brooks, and witnessed by over 70 family members, friends, residents and staff members.

Our local Fire Station Number 2 Firefighters provided a 3 member Color Guard Team to post the American flag, and 2 other officers hoisted a magnificent American flag from their fire truck. Resident Bernie Karpinski led us in singing America the Beautiful and God Bless America.

The honorees were from the U.S. Army: Jim Childress, Brian Dodson, and Dan Neu; from the U.S. Air Force: John Moore; and from the U.S. Navy: Bill Nimon. Each was presented with a Primrose Certificate of Appreciation. Betty Yeager and Donna Samuelson were presented with their husbands photos, and Marylyn and Bill Clare were thanked and fare welled. The most dramatic moment was when the photos were finally unveiled.

Already in the works for Veteran’s Day 2014, 6 even newer Primrose Veterans will be honored in a similar fashion. Save the date 11/11/14 at 11:00 a.m. to honor and induct Mel Spence, David Biggs, Carl Montes, Raymond Cordova, Ivan Majors and Ken Wiley. Make sure to stop by the first floor Fireside Lounge and admire the newest faces on the Primrose Wall of Honor.

Thank you for your service.
