Wasilla, AK, Retirement Communities

Primrose residents visited Pyra’s Pioneer Peak “up pick” farm in Butte, Alaska. Assisted living residents wouldn’t let the rocky pathway stop them from picking fresh grown vegetables.

Hearing about all the organic produce and effort that goes in to farming in Alaska was fascinating.

The owners of the family-operated farm provide golf carts for visitors to access fields via dirt paths.

Residents ended the day by sitting in the sunshine enjoying watermelon while reminiscing about growing up on farms of their own.
