The Forgotten Holiday

What’s happened to Thanksgiving?
It’s fading fast away.
A day for thankful praying,
We need Thanksgiving Day.

Halloween’s exciting
With scary tricks or treats.
As many ghosts and goblins
Run from street to street.

And Christmas is a blessed time
The holiest of the year.
A time for love and peace on Earth
When came the Christ child dear.

And yet we need Thanksgiving,
A day to sing our praise
And thanks for all the blessings
God gives us through our days.

Don’t push aside Thanksgiving
Its festival renew.
Recall and name the blessings
That God has given you.
