Hella is crowned Queen by Heidi

The Al Kaly Shriner Band
Wow! Our 2nd annual Oktoberfest was fun for everyone and brought joy to residents, friends, family, volunteers and staff.
“Master of Ceremonies” Heidi Brooks did a fabulous job of putting this event together for us. She does “whatever it takes” to enrich lives such as traveling up to the Colorado Springs Wimberger Bakery to bring back dozens of genuine German soft pretzels for the occasion! German beer, cheeses and pastries were enjoyed by all.
A highlight of the event was when Primrose resident Hella Holman was crowned “Queen of the Oktoberfest” and had both sons and most of her family here to enjoy the honor with her. Although not a normal part of traditional Oktoberfest’s, we have made it a Primrose tradition to select a Queen each year.
Thirteen members of the hugely-talented Al Kaly Shriner German Band played many a polka and waltz that brought us to the dance floor. Thanks to the donations from the Primrose Family, we raised almost $600 that the Shriner’s put to direct use for needy childrens’ surgery.
Here at Primrose of Pueblo, “this is living” and we invite you to come see why by joining us for any of our upcoming special events. Our Veterans Day program on 11/11 at 11 will have the JROTC Team from Pueblo West High School, a Jazz Band Concert by “Sax for the Soul” will perform on 12/16, and the world renowned Veronika String Quartet will serenade us in February.
