Sweetwater’s residents and their guests attend Hoe Down
No straw in the barn this year!
Wildwood Cloggers perform at Hoe Down
A chill rain failed to dampen the spirits of residents, friends and families who gathered in the Sweetwater barn October 3rd for our annual Hoedown to enjoy music, entertainment and the best food in the west. Boots, jeans, western hats and bandanas were much in evidence as staff, residents and guests joined in the festivities and let their inner cowboy show.
While the Memory Lane Bunch provided country and western music, the large crowd feasted on tender, delicious brisket, mac ‘n cheese, coleslaw, baked beans and apple pie a la mode (this was, without doubt, much better grub than provided by chuck wagons in the old days in the west, and everyone praised the kitchen crew who provided it).
A lively performance by nearly 20 members of the Wildwood Cloggers brought enthusiastic applause before people began reluctantly to leave the festivities and head back out into the rainy night.
All of the staff who organized and produced this event, from start to cleaning up afterwards, demonstrated that they know how to throw a good party and leave everyone with happy memories.
