Laura and Frank, “the happy couple”
Laura and Frank saying their vows
When Frances Myrtle Shunk moved into Primrose Retirement Community of Duluth a few months ago, she never expected the community would become a landmark for major events in her family.
Before she moved to Primrose, she did not know what “assisted living” meant: she had no idea of the ease she would experience, the opportunities she would have, and the wonderful environment in which she would live. Her son Frank and his fiancé Laura were also impressed by atmosphere and community at Primrose. As they spent time with Frances in her apartment home, in the common areas, and enjoying community breakfast, they came to particularly love the Woods View Commons space.
They were so impressed, in fact, that they chose the Woods View Commons at Primrose as the site of their wedding ceremony and reception.
So, on June 9th, 2013, as Frances smiled proudly, Frank and Laura were married in the presence of 25 of their family and friends.
It is in times such as this that we at Primrose are proud and humbled to be able to not only provide a place for our residents to live but also to become an integral part of their families and their lives. It is proof that we are not just a building — we are a community that cares for each other, celebrates with each other, and pulls together to be a part of something greater than ourselves.
Best of luck to Frank and Laura! We’re glad we can be a part of this new life they are beginning together!
