Snow Daze Soup Cook Off Winners (L to R): 3rd place Esther Streeper, 1st place Mae Teske, and 2nd place Harriet Wallin.
The Snow Daze Soup Cook Off is becoming a tradition at Primrose in Bismarck. For the second straight year, residents cooked up their best batch of soup for the contest. Residents and staff came to the dining room to taste test and cast their votes.
After the votes were tallied, Mae Teske was in a bit of shock. After winning last year, she did not expect to win again. She entered the contest with fellow neighbors for a fun afternoon activity, and was humbled by the votes from her peers.
However, Mae is no stranger to soup. Along with her husband, she built and owned a Drive-in restaurant in Hazen, ND. She cooked many meals including a lot of different soups. They operated the Drive-In for 10 years before selling it. The business went through several owners, and now houses a flower shop.
With Mae’s experience, we’re excited to see what she’ll cook up next. Last year, she entered her “Delicious Potato Soup”. This year she shared her “Anything Goes Vegetable Soup”. We are excited to taste what she’ll cook up for next year! Congratulations Mae! Souper Job!
