Fashionistas Velma Jean and Chillie
A very stylish Nancy Van Loon
Wasilla Senior Living
January 14th, 2011. She nervously shifts her weight from one foot to the other. Then the cue is given to begin, and all the anxiety melts away as Nancy Van Loon struts her stuff on the Wasilla Primrose Runway for the first annual Primrose Fashion Show.
The Wasilla retirement community’s fashion show featured staff and residents from Primrose, with fashion clothing graciously donated by Younique Boutique.
A few days before the big event, Nancy Van Loon, Velma Jean McGraw, Chillie Pace, Ginny Jacobson and Bernice Vinnette went to visit Megan at Younique Boutique. They spent several hours trying on all sorts of outfits before settling on the ones used for the show. One of the gals remarked that it was like being a little girl again and playing dress up.
When the fashion show began, each lady took a turn strolling down the runway, some walking casual and free while others really gave a show!
Velma Jean looked like a natural as she mugged for her adoring fans! And Ginny Jacobson strutted like she’d been doing this for years.
One of the highlight outfits of the fashion show was Bernice’s gorgeous cream and rose dress (which she immediately purchased afterwards). Chillie Pace, the resident bargain hunter and fashionista, looked absolutelymahvelous in a shimmery black ensemble that was perfect for dancing.
Several community members came to see the beautiful ladies in their lovely outfits, and they had a great time visiting with the residents afterwards. The event proved fun and entertaining, and all of the residents wished to say ‘Thank you’ to Megan at Younique Boutique for the use of her clothing. The community is planning another fashion show for this Fall!
