Primrose of Zanesville celebrated their Second Anniversary 1950s style on September 15, 2010. The staff was dressed for the occasion, in their poodle skirts and saddle shoes. Poodle skirts were a popular attire for women in the 1950s because they allowed for easier dancing, by letting the skirt twirl when the woman was being spun around.

Tents were set up on the front lawn and ice cream parlor style tables and chairs were set up throughout. Everyone enjoyed cheeseburgers, fresh cut fries, root beer floats, popcorn, music, dancing and a classic car show. The crowd also enjoyed cake as a part of the celebration: the cake was molded to look like a 1950’s style poodle skirt, and was designed by Nancy Argo & Meghan Murphy from the Primrose kitchen in Zanesville.

About 340 people attended the event, including Primrose residents, families, friends, community members, people looking to live at Primrose and many more. With “Rock Around the Clock” echoing in the background, the 2nd Anniversary party at Primrose got off to a great start.

Thirty classic cars lined the front parking lot and sparked interest for everyone. The evening brought back many memories to many in attendance, especially Primrose residents.

Executive Director Shala Steinman thanked everyone for coming out and celebrating the special occasion. She shared the excitement they have in being a part of the great Zanesville community for the last two years.
