Random Acts of Kindness Week Success at Primrose

Donations from Random Acts of Kindness Week

Findlay, OH, Retirement Communities

At the Findlay, Ohio, Primrose facility, we participated in the Random Acts of Kindness Week which was February 11-17.

The Residents were holding open doors for each other, helping others and going out of the way to be kind. We put out a tub for donations to the Findlay City Mission which is a local homeless shelter.

By the end of the week the tub was overflowing with donations. Donations included clothes, blankets, food and more. This was a great way to clean closets and pantries along with helping others in the community.

If you would like to help donate to City Mission, please visit their website: www.findlaymission.org.

Luella Enjoys Duluth Primrose

Luella and crocheted dolls

Duluth, Minnesota, Senior Living

Luella moved to Primrose July 15, 2012 and she can’t say enough positive things about her move here. She really enjoys all of the activities that Primrose has to offer, as you will see her enjoying Farkle in the Fireside Lounge, Happy Hour on Fridays, and Bingo.

Luella loves the fact that she doesn’t have to cook anymore and that she truly loves the food. Luella also enjoys knitting, crocheting, and cross-stitching with the Primrose group. They really enjoy just spending time together knitting and talking.

As seen in the picture above, Luella crochets these sweet little dolls. Luella taught herself how to crochet and has made these dolls for friends, family, and neighbors.

As I looked around her home at Primrose, I could see Luella has baby dolls, and I counted cross-stitch pictures framed by the woodwork of her late husband, Paul.

Luella can do just about any type of sewing as she has also made “crazy” quilts, the baby doll clothing on her crocheted dolls, and has even helped her neighbors with buttons on clothing and other clothing items in need of mending. Primrose is so lucky to have you as one of our residents!!! Thank you for sharing!

The Most Popular Place at Primrose

Della Skul and Heidi Brooks

Della Skul and Heidi Brooks

Pueblo, CO, Senior Living

Where is our “top spot”?! You might think it would be the Dining Room – great food and good company, that is true. What about the twice weekly Ice Cream Socials in our fun “Fifties Décor” Parlor? Could it be Friday Happy Hours in the Pub with live entertainment and refreshments? Or our Movie Theater with the smell of homemade popcorn to entice you in?

Actually, hands down, it’s the Primrose Beauty Shop! There is more laughter, happy talks with the wise and kind women who run the “Shop”, and smiles of joy with the finished results than anywhere I have ever seen.

Della Skul and Heidi Brooks just celebrated their One Year Anniversary as the great ladies who operate the Primrose Beauty Salon.

Truly they do it all — Hairstyling, perms, manicures, pedicures, mopping with bucket, birthday cakes for residents, picture hanging, potica baking, active listening, bedside care, donut and coffee delivery, bartender for Happy Hour, Dining Room Services, and personally delivering goodies to all residents at Christmas, Valentines, Easter and Halloween!

Wow what a pair… Thank you for the joy you bring to Primrose.

Lima, Ohio, Senior Living

The Ladies of Lima Primrose were invited to the wedding shower of Resident Assistant Ashley Wright.

The shower was held in the Wellness Center and the Pub. So a ladies’ shopping day was made to go out to eat at Ruby Tuesdays, shop at Kohl’s (where Ashley’s gift registry was), and then one more stop at Kewpee’s for dessert before heading home.

Then on Sunday, February 3rd, the ladies attended the beautiful shower, with wonderful food, decorations and merriment. The ladies played a few games and watched the bride to be open her gifts. The Ladies Of Primrose had a wonderful time.
